FAQ - Z-Flash LCM 2500 for GM

1. Does the Z-Flash LCM 2500 for GM have custom software?

A: No, unfortunately, the Z-Flash LCM 2500 for GM does not have the ability to be customized.

2. Will this Z-Flash make the Clearance Lights flash?

A: With the GM trucks we are unable to get the Clearance Lights to flash.

3. Can you activate the Z-Flash LCM 2500 with the Key Fob?

A: Yes! The Key Fob Activation method is always active with this unit

4. Is the Z-Flash DOT or NHTSA approved?

A: No, the Z-Flash is not DOT or NHTSA approved.

5. Where is the LCM Located on a Hummer EV?

A: The LCM on the Hummer EV is located on the passenger side of the vehicle.

6. Can I install the Z-Flash right away?

A: Before installing make sure to have the Driver’s Door Open while Vehicle is OFF. If not, you may trip a Check Engine Light.

7. Can I use this with a Plow attached to my truck?

A: Yes. There is a plow mode wire that comes with the Z-Flash that will prevent the Plow Lights from flashing.

8. Does my truck need to have LEDs for the Z-Flash to work?

A: The Z-Flash can work with both Halogens and LEDs. However, for the most effective performance, LEDs are the way to go.

9. Does the vehicle need to be on when changing the DIP Switches?

A: Yes. Make sure when you change the DIP Switch settings that the unit is installed and activated or else the changes will not go into effect.

10. Is there a required DIP Switch setting for my vehicle?

A: For the Z-Flash LCM 2500 for GM, there is DIP Switch #4 that has to be set for the vehicle you have.

If you have an EV vehicle put DIP Switch #4 OFF

For Gas/Diesel vehicles put DIP Switch #4 ON

11. How do I know if my 2022/23 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado has the LCM or not?

A: If you have a crossover year truck, it’s required to do a visual inspection of the LCM under the driver’s side dash.

If you look underneath the driver’s side dash near the brake pedal there will be at least 2 rows of plugs.

If your truck has 2 rows of different colored plugs you need the LCM 2500 for GM. If you see just 1 row of plugs you will need the BCM for GM.

The LCM (Light Control Module) has a row of 5 different colored plugs.

12. What is Super Cruise and Why is that important for this Z-Flash?

A: Super Cruise is featured only on the 1500 model Silverado and Sierra trucks. You would know if you had this feature if you see an LED Screen on your Steering Wheel and not just your Dashboard.

If you have the LED Screen on your Steering Wheel it's recommended to disconnect the Black Resistor on the harness before install.
